As part of the renowned APMP (Association of Proposal Management Professionals), founded in the USA in 1989, we have developed into a respected professional association operating worldwide, with well-known sponsoring companies from various industries.

APMP® is the global authority for professionals dedicated to winning business through proposals, bids, capture, business development, and presentations.

Established in August 1989 with 28 charter members and headquartered in the USA, APMP is a non-profit membership organization.

Today, the Association boasts nearly 14,050+ members across 27 active chapters worldwide, and our numbers are continuously growing.

Our membership includes proposal and business development professionals involved in activities such as business development and acquisition, proposal management, strategic planning, business capture, sales, competitive intelligence, writing, editing, graphic design, desktop publishing, document production, and proposal consulting.

APMP SSA CHAPtER 

Formed in 2009, the APMP Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) Chapter has grown into the most influential network of bid and proposal professionals in the region. Our membership, currently numbering over 200, benefits from unparalleled professional development opportunities, global connections, and exclusive industry resources.

We are driven by a dedicated committee of volunteers from the bid and tendering profession, who generously contribute their time and expertise to advance the professionalism of proposal management and coaching.

Now in its 16th year, our annual conference has become a cornerstone event for industry professionals. Our chapter was recently recognized as a top 3 finalist for the prestigious 2023 Stephen P. Shipley Award for “Chapter of the Year,” honoring our excellence in chapter sustenance, development, and member engagement. Additionally, we proudly hold the “Chapter Leader of the Year” award, which acknowledges the outstanding contributions of our chapter leader in driving new initiatives and fostering chapter growth.

It is the position of the APMP Board of Directors that the association be recognized as the worldwide authority for professionals dedicated to the process of winning business. While the association has a long history of partnering with entities that complement its mission and services, we will take any necessary action to protect and control the use of the brand, logo, and ultimately, the association’s reputation.

We have built a powerful community over three decades and we are proud of the value we deliver through the comprehensive services and benefits we provide to our growing global membership. Code of ethics

Members of APMP are expected to:

  1. Comply with rules, government regulations, and laws in their respective countries, as well as other appropriate private and public regulatory agencies.
  2. Ensure compliance with all rules concerning an interaction with clients and government liaisons.
  3. Protect sensitive information and comply with all legal requirements for the disclosure of information.
  4. Avoid conflicts of interest, or the appearance of same, and disclose to their employer or client any circumstances that may influence their judgment and objectivity.
  5. Ensure that a mutual understanding of the objectives, scope, work plan, and fee arrangements has been established before accepting any assignment.
  6. Represent the proposal profession with integrity in their relationships with employers, clients, colleagues, and the general public.
  7. When in doubt about how to resolve an ethical dilemma, confer with a person you trust— one who is not directly involved in the outcome.
